More of Christ in Your Marriage (Couple's Conversation)

Maybe you've heard people talking about bringing more of Christ back into Christmas, but have you considered bringing more of Christ into your marriage this December? Imagine the difference more of Christ will make in your relationship! Especially at what can be a stressful, really busy time of year.

Please take a moment to watch this short video in which we share some practical ways to bring more of Christ into your marriage this Christmas season.

Learn more by tuning in to the recent Marriage Talk Podcast in which hosts Sheldon and Valerie Dean discuss this topic in depth with us.

Read & Discuss Together

“Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him” (Colossians 3:15-17).

We experience more of Jesus in our lives as we commit everything we do to Him. Throughout our daily routines, we can experience His presence with us as we allow Him to be at the centre of our hearts. This brings more joy into our marriage relationship because our thoughts, actions and words are focused on honouring Jesus!

  • Read the article, “Spiritual Pathways to Draw Closer to God and Your Spouse,” and discuss what you think your spiritual pathways are. Are they different from one another? Do you have any pathways in common?

  • How could you encourage each other to lean into your spiritual pathways this Christmas season?

Date Ideas

Here are some date ideas to enjoy throughout the month to help you experience more of Christ together. Plan one (or maybe even three) dates to enjoy together.

  • Take a walk or drive together to view the beautiful scenes of Christmas lights and God’s nature in your community. Allow the beauty to lead you into prayers of thanksgiving.

  • Mix some hot drinks and listen to some Christmas songs to remind yourselves of Christ coming to dwell with humankind. Sing along to worship the Saviour.

  • Have a movie night and watch The Nativity Story. Reflect on God’s love — that He would send Jesus as the light of the world to bring hope and salvation.

  • Choose your own adventure!
