What is a Weekend Getaway?
The Weekend Getaway is a marriage conference uniquely designed to enrich your relationship. For most couples it’s a chance to reconnect, re-establish the foundation and rekindle romance. For others, it’s a fresh start. For some, it will be the weekend that saves a marriage.
Wherever you’re at in your relationship, this retreat is a weekend to remember. The atmosphere is relaxed and warm, even fun. You’ll hear from real couples doing real life together… God’s way. You’ll be given time to process what you’re learning. And together, you’ll make a plan for a marriage that lasts a lifetime.

What will we do?
The weekend is a blend of full group sessions and downtime for the two of you – in fact a date night is built right in. The sessions have a workshop feel, mixing great information with time and tools for you to process what you are learning. And we mean just the two of you. There is no awkward sharing with strangers.

Registration Rates
The BOGO $150 Special is on until Sept 30th. Buy one registration at the Early Bird Rate of $299/Couple and then register another couple (friends or family) for just $150. This is a great way to bless another couple or you can arrange to split the total cost. When two registrations are in your shopping cart at check-out, this special will automatically be applied.

Cancellations:
If either couple participating in the BOGO offer needs to withdraw we’ll gladly transfer your full registration to another couple or future Weekend Getaway. Or if you prefer a refund, registration fees are refundable up to 14 days prior to the conference, less a $30 cancellation fee per couple. If only one couple is withdrawing and requesting the refund it will be the $150 registration (minus the cancellation fee) that will be refunded.
New this Year! If you have a group of 10 or more couples registered at least 30 days before the event, you will receive 2 nights at the event hotel for free! You can give these hotel nights away for someone else to use. For example, someone in your group who may be in financial need, or you can enjoy the free hotel nights yourself for all the hard work you did to create the group! (terms and conditions apply*)
*Hotel nights are at the venue hotel for the Friday and Saturday night of the event at the lowest conference room rate available. Any upgrades would be at the expense of the attendee. Parking and incidentals are not included. Couples must be registered 30 days before the event. Once you’ve reached 10 couples please email events@familylifecanada.com to claim your two free nights!
Couples must be registered at least 2 days before event start date. *Any couples above the minimum 5 can be added at the group rate of $199/couple. The group rate also applies to gift certificates when bought in multiples of 5.
What if you can't quite get 5 Couples to form a group?
If you do not reach the minimum number of 5 couples for the group rate two weeks prior to the conference date, you'll have the option to purchase gift certificates (at the $199 rate) to reach the 5 couple minimum. These gift certificates do not expire and can be used for any location in Canada.
Alternatively, you can change your registrations into Early Bird Rate registrations and pay the difference in registration cost. If you have any questions about your group registration, please email events@familylifecanada.com for clarification.
Cancellation Policy for Groups
If a group member needs to withdraw, registration fees are non-refundable but can be transferred to another couple or future Weekend Getaway.
If you are unable to attend due to unavoidable last-minute circumstances, please let us know by emailing events@familylifecanada.com or calling 1-800-247-3180 (8:30 – 4:30 PT, Mon-Fri) and we can send you a credit for a future Weekend Getaway.

You can order Weekend Getaway brochures and posters for free (ready late August) and we’ll ship them to you shortly. For email communications, in addition to sending people to the webpage you’re reading right now, you can also share a link to the details page for the specific conference you are promoting.

The Weekend Getaway content was refreshed and revamped for the 2022/2023 season! If you’ve attended a conference in the past now is a great time to come again! Some of the concepts and tools that attendees have told us are the most helpful will remain the same, but you’ll be able to go deeper and engage in new conversations around new, important topics.
The registration fee for the Weekend Getaway includes all materials that you will need for the conference but does not include lodging, meals or coffee & tea. When you make your room reservation, ask what services are included and if there is a microwave and refrigerator in the room. Saturday night is designated as “date night.” If you and your spouse choose to enjoy a special dinner out, be sure to make reservations before the weekend to avoid being disappointed.
When you check in at the conference, you will receive nametags and booklets, which include space for taking notes. You will need to bring a pen or pencil and a Bible if you wish, but most Scripture passages mentioned during the talks are printed in the manual. If you are interested, you will want to be prepared for purchasing resources from the conference resource center. The weekend is casual in nature, so we recommend dressing comfortably while recognizing temperature changes due to location and season.
No. As a courtesy to other participants, we ask that children, including nursing infants, not be brought to the sessions. FamilyLife is unable to provide childcare during the conference. Yes they do. Each hotel has its own discounted room rate. When booking your room let them know you are a guest at FamilyLife’s Weekend Getaway marriage conference and they will honour the special rate for you.
While it is highly recommended that you and your spouse stay at the conference hotel to experience the weekend in it’s entirety, we do understand some circumstances make this difficult. If for whatever reason you can’t stay at the hotel, agree with your spouse to remove all distractions to get the most of your time together: clear your schedule, don’t check your email, keep the tv off, unplug the phone and find someone to help you with your children. This is a time for you and your spouse to focus on just each other and your relationship.
All Weekend Getaway guests must book and pay for their own accommodations by contacting the hotel prior to the conference. Hotel information is included with each location description. FamilyLife is unable to make those arrangements for you.
Each topic builds on the previous topics. Therefore, we do not offer partial registrations.
No. The registration fee does not include accommodations, meals or parking.
Not at all. This conference is for everyone, no matter what condition your marriage is in. Past participants range from those in good solid marriages right down to those ready to sign divorce papers. It can either take your marriage from good to great, or to potentially saving it. The conference offers hope.
No. While the conference material is based on biblical principles, it is not exclusive to Christians. The event offers sound practical and applicable marriage teaching for everyone regardless of your beliefs. Our speakers teach from their own experiences in a non-threatening and often humorous way.
Not necessarily, but it is designed to strengthen marriages, so to make the most of your investment we recommend that your relationship is in the process of taking that step. The majority of couples that attend are married, but occasionally engaged couples join us as well and find the conference helpful in starting their marriage off on the right foot.
